The music follows the path of the human metronome, prodigious pianist Kousei Arima. But after the death of his mother, Saki Arima, Kousei falls into a state of collapse, leaving him unable to hear the sound of his piano. Two years later, Kousei still avoids the piano, shunning his admirers and rivals, and lives a colorless life with his friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari. However, everything changes when he meets Kaori Miyazono, a beautiful violinist who rocks his world and sets him on a journey to face music again. Based on the manga series of the same name, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso embarks on a story of recovery as he discovers that music is much more than playing each note perfectly, and that a single chord can bring the fresh spring breeze of April.
