Thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is a typical corporate employee who, apart from failing to find a girlfriend even once in his entire life, is perfectly content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo. In the midst of a casual encounter with his co-worker, he becomes the victim of a random assailant on the streets and is stabbed to death. Now, free from the mundaneities of his past life, Rimuru embarks on a new journey with a specific goal in mind.
