The world has become a slaughterhouse for the Crimson Denizens, mysterious beings from a parallel universe who feed on the life energy of humans. These ruthless murderers leave behind only meager remnants of souls called “Torches”, which are mere remnants that will eventually be destroyed, along with the very fact of the victims’ existence in the minds of the living.
In an ambitious endeavor to end this unseen, hungry slaughter, warriors called Flame Hazes relentlessly battle these monsters. One fateful day, Yuuji Sakai ceases to be a regular high school student – he finds himself trapped in a time rift and is suddenly attacked by a Denizen. Coming to her rescue just in time, a nameless hunter looks no different from an ordinary young girl, save for her blazing eyes and searing crimson hair.
