When Subaru Natsuki leaves the convenience store, the last thing he expects is to be ripped from his daily life and thrust into a fantasy world. Things don’t go well for the puzzled teenager; however, shortly after arriving, he is attacked by thugs. Armed with only a bag of groceries and a now useless cell phone, he is quickly reduced to a pulp. Luckily, a mysterious beauty named Satella, in pursuit of whoever stole her badge, stumbles upon Subaru and rescues him. In order to thank the honest and caring girl, Subaru offers to help her in her search, and later that night he even finds where what she is looking for is. But unbeknownst to them, a much darker force is stalking the couple in the shadows, and just minutes after locating the insignia, Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered. However, Subaru immediately wakes up to a familiar scene – confronted by the same group of thugs, encountering Satella again – the riddle deepens as history inexplicably repeats itself.
