“Senshadou” is a traditional sport using World War II-era tanks in elimination matches. Widely practiced by women and girls, it is presented as an art form aimed at making women more important in the culture and attractive to men. Having become over time a global phenomenon, the influence of the senshadou led to the creation of a world championship which will soon take place in Japan. Miho Nishizumi, who comes from a line of highly respected senshadou scholars, is at odds with the sport after a traumatic event that led to her retirement and ultimately a rift between her and her family.

To avoid this practice as much as possible, she is transferred to Ooarai Girls’ High School where the senshadou program has been abolished. However, with the news of the upcoming championships, the school restarts its tanking program and Miho is pressured to join. Now, with the help of new friends, she must overcome her past and once again take command of a tank squadron in an effort to save her school from closure, while proving to her family that the Nishizumi style of senshadou is not just about winning.
