Since he was a child, fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira has helped and owns his father by working as a cook at his father’s restaurant. Through the years, Souma has developed a passion to entertain its customers with its creative, skillful and daring culinary creations.
He dreams of someday becoming the head chef of his family’s restaurant. Yet when his father suddenly decides to close the restaurant to test his cooking abilities in restaurants around the world, he sends Souma to Totsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10 Percentage of students graduate. The institute is famous for its “Shokugeki” or “Food Wars”, where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns.
