In their teens, few things can hurt more than the heartache that comes with unrequited love. Such is the case for Natsuo Fujii, who finds himself charmed by Hina, the always happy teacher at his school. Frustrated by this unattainable desire, Natsuo mocks his friends and goes to a mixer. There he meets Rui, a girl whose lack of enthusiasm is his rival. After bonding over their mutual awkwardness, Rui takes Natsuo to her house and asks him to have sex with her, hoping the experience will stop her friends from treating her like an unloved child. With hopeless feelings for Hina still in his mind, Natsuo hesitantly agrees.
Equally incomplete from their “first time”, the two decide to part ways as strangers. However, before he has a chance to process the experience, Natsuo’s father makes a big bang: He’s remarried, and his new wife, Tsukiko Tachibana, is now visiting Natsuo. As if that wasn’t enough of a shock, his daughters — and, in turn, Natsuo’s new sisters — are Hina and Rui Tachibana, the woman he loves and the girl he shared his first night with.
