A silent voice
As a young savage, elementary school student Shouya Ishida sought to overcome boredom in the cruellest way. When deaf Shouko Nishimiya transfers to his class, Shouya and the rest of his class mindlessly bully him for fun. However, when his mother informs the school, he is singled out and blamed for everything that has been done to him. With Shouko’s transfer out of school, Shouya is left at the mercy of her classmates. He is heartlessly ostracized throughout elementary and middle school, while teachers turn a blind eye. Now in his third year of high school, Shouya is still plagued by his misdeeds as a young boy. Sincerely regretting his past actions, he embarks on a journey of redemption: to meet Shouko once more and make amends.
