One day after school, high school freshman Yomogi Asanaka encounters a hungry man under a bridge. Introducing himself as Gauma, the strange wanderer informs Yomogi that he is a “kaiju user”, someone who deals with “kaiju” – monsters that harm the city and its citizens. The next evening, Yomogi meets Gauma and his classmate Yume Minami. Simultaneously, a kaiju appears in a populated area of ​​the city.
