In a civilized society of anthropomorphic animals, an uneasy tension exists between carnivores and vegetarians. At Cheriton Academy, this mutual mistrust reaches a climax after a predatory incident results in the death of Tem, an alpaca in the school’s drama club. Tem’s friend Legoshi, a gray wolf in the stage crew, has been the subject of fear and suspicion for his entire life.
In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, he continues to play down and hide his dangerous traits, much to the disapproval of Louis, a red deer and overbearing star of the drama club. When Louis sneaks into the auditorium to train Tame’s replacement for an upcoming play, he assigns lookout duty to Legoshi. That same night, Legoshi has a fateful encounter with Haru, a white dwarf rabbit scorned by his peers. Her growing feelings for Haru, compounded by her predatory instincts, force her to confront her own true nature, the circumstances surrounding her friend’s death, and the undercurrents of violence in the world around her.
