Aslan Jade Callaneries, better known as Ash Lynx, was a fugitive from the streets of New York City and was raised by the infamous godfather of the Mafia, Dino Golzin. Now 17 years old and the boss of his own gang, Ash receives a mysterious drug called “Banana Fish” – the same two words his older brother Griffin has mumbled since his return from the Iraq War.
However, his investigation is interrupted when Dino sends his men to an underground bar that he uses as a hideout to get the drug back from Ash. At the bar, Ash’s friend, Skip, introduces him to Shunichi Ibe and his assistant, Eiji Okumura, a Japanese photographer reporting on American Street Gang. However, their conversation is interrupted when one of Ash’s associates, Shorter Wong, calls to warn about Dino. Soon, Dino’s men storm the bar, and in the ensuing chaos, Skip and kidnap Eiji.
